Lost and Found

The field of lavender flowers.
Today I realized I had no power.
Came here when my life was sour.
Here my father told me "Don’t Cower".
Survival.
My soul desperate for a revival.
My thoughts coated in denial.
My self wishing for a retrial.
Had enough of the deprival.
A crying toddler, he made an arrival.
Lost and found.
Our fates are bound.
Heard his cries, parents not present.
But his eyes? Iridescent, beautiful as the crescent.
Pure and radiant, nothing but pleasant.
Holding him, better than any antidepressant.
Calming him, my struggles get masked.
Take care of him, my mind tasked.
How a dad feels holding his child.
How glad to have the pain be mild.
His cries have stopped.
His happiness and safety, I opt.
An oath finally made.
Get near this child, face my blade.
Intervention, had to be divine
For this child to be mine.
The question remains in my mind.
Is it wickedness?
Is it weakness?
