WORDS...

WORDS…

Lone…
Empty…
Unloved

Words? Maybe…
…More? Probably
Life of the Lost
Paying the cost

A cost He paid
To a life He made
True love find
Leaving all behind

Hate…
Deceit…
Despair…
Defeat.

Words? Maybe…
…More? Probably
Life of the Dead
In darkness led

Night begins to fade
Light is unafraid
True love find
No longer blind

Love…
Hope…
Promise.

Words? Maybe…
…more? Probably
Led out of dark despair
By the uttering of a prayer

As you see Him upon
The Cross, He's not gone
Seek and ye shall find
The tomb He left behind

Friendship!
Truth!
Life!
Victory!

Words? No much more!
For Christ is the door
These Jesus gives
Because He lives!

He lives! End of the night!
He lives! In power! In might!
Leave meaningless words behind
Friendship, truth, life, victory find
Amen

About this poem

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it. John 1:1-5
