My Son

My beautiful baby boy, I remember the joy you brought me when you played with toys.
I was honored to teach you important life skills like going potty and tying  your shoes.
Our walks together were special, and I loved watching you pick out the perfect rocks.
I taught you how to ride your bike
Though I was never good at flying kites.
As you grew older, I supported you through heartbreaks and celebrated your achievements.
But now, it hurts to see that you have pushed me away and treated me like I am disposable.
I will give you the space you need, but my heart longs for the day when you will apologize for your actions and recognize the love that I have always had for you.
