Devine timing. The day I nearly died.

Heather Lydia Thornhill 1981 (Manchester)

The car swerved,
headlights beaming.
My body frozen to the cold road.
My lungs screaming.
It had no mercy for my inner peace.
There was no personal space,
in that awful place.
I was surely dead now.
Yet the car missed somehow.
And on went life,
forgiving the legal knife...
Forgetting the driver that cut through my life,
like air.
Did they even care that I was there?
Why am I still here?
There I stand still inside, as lapping tides rush back to the ocean depths free and wide.
What God or angel had stood by my side,
on that day I could have died.
