Amongst the Waves of Chaos
On a cold bleak empty night
On the waves from the sea of chaos and confusion
Seeking endlessly for a port on the island of peace and tranquility
Just when I am about to surrender to my misfortune and pain
To admit the futility of my quest
To give up the search for what I yearn
Out of the darkness I see the faint glimpse of a light
I begin to think my mind gone mad
As the waves come crashing down I see the light again
This time brighter than before bringing hope to my despair
I struggle to paddle and fight the waves that try to keep me from my prize
Just as the light s within my grasp I throw out my hands
Desperately seeking to grab the treasure that is bobbing in the sea
As I seize my treasure and draw it near
Able to finally gaze upon the hopeful light
I’m taken aback by a beautiful figure in my arms
As I draw her near
I finally sense the warmth of the sun
The peacefulness of a full moon on a glassy lake
And the beauty of the stars
At long last all my hopes and dreams came true
I finally found the port I’ve been desperately yearning
With the peace of your embrace that quells the storm around
The tranquility of your smile that brings an ends my worlds confusion
I never would have imagined that the island I’ve been hoping for
The peace I’ve been dreaming of
The tranquility I’ve been seeking
Never came from a place
But a beautiful angel’s embrace
An angel that was sent for me
About this poem
This is an expansion of a quote that really spoke to me as a young adult “In a sea of chaos and confusion we are all searching for an island of peace and tranquility”
