Hope she doesn’t get away
Match! Begin the climb
Talk with gusto, then find a time
Plan your move, oh so smooth
Pick the chairs, not the booth
Match! Begin the best
Energy, excitement, no time to rest
Rapid depth, considered swept
Coffee, chaos, you swiftly leapt
Match! Begin decline
Suddenly silent, somethings not fine
Retreat, retrace, reassure
Will you ever find the cure?

About this poem
This poem is inspired by my personal life experiences navigating a dating world that becomes increasingly devoid of meaning. As a man focused on depth, with very strong emotion and feelings of tremendous excitement I met the girl of my dreams that I think fit for me in so many ways, I showed my whole self but the story went wrong somewhere and I still don't know why.
