Together we stand

My mother served in the Army, my father a Marine,
Born into a legacy, where courage is seen.
I love God and my country, for the brave who unite,
Men and women who stand strong, so I can sleep tight.

I learned about perseverance, to fight for what's right,
To show courage in shadows, even when fear ignites.
Taught to press my jeans and wear a dress with pride,
To stand boldly for truth, while with grace I abide.

The greatest lesson came from my grandmother’s embrace,
Life may bring struggles, but peace is found in grace.
She gave birth to the warriors who protect our land,
No role is too small; together we stand
The doctor, the teacher, that little boy's dream,
In unity we flourish, a powerful team.
