Stardust Devotion

Nelzealours Motoe 1995 (Lusaka)

Were my eyes two shimmering celestial bodies,
And I, the nocturnal firmament,
I would vigilantly watch over thee,
Whenever slumber claimed thy sight, my dear.

Yet, such reveries are naught but fantasies,
Thus, I shall simply cherish thee, for that is just.

In somnolent realms, one may don the guise
Of Batman or Spider-Man, but upon waking,
A person reverts to their mundane guise.

Nonetheless, the realm of dreams persists,
Even amidst radiant daylight,
A hidden sphere wherein aspirations soar.

Though fantasies dissolve with diurnal light,
Certain truths endure, radiant and bright.

Hence, I choose to be a meaningful presence,
A steadfast, genuine love, ever near.
