I Am Incomplete

When you walk into the room, my heart skips a beat,
A sudden clinch, a rhythm incomplete.
My throat dries up, my eyes begin to water,
Hands trembling, confidence falters.

I’ve met a few who stirred this storm,
But now I yearn for that feeling reborn.
Someone to rush home to every night,
Whose smile makes everything feel just right.

Someone who listens when I talk my crap,
Yet holds my hand, never turning their back.
Who calls me out but with a loving gaze,
A best friend’s warmth in every phase.

Someday, somehow, I know I’ll find,
The one who fills this void in my mind.
