ONE MAN’S WISDOM

AM Chung 1946 (Toronto)

He passed on as he was born
To his name not a penny
As if he was in need of any?
Neither credit nor debt
He left without liability or asset!

A husband he was the best
A father we were blessed
A person he surpassed the rest.
Treasures of understanding,
compassion and gentleness
What more could we merit! Did we not inherit?
I quote "From the very young to the very old
loved you. You were not only our father but
to all" they wrote!

Seldom spoken but few words uttered
with wisdom and passion,
There was never a condition.
With his final breath I recall,
"Thank God for my children!"
he whispered to us all.
