The Celtic Way

LIKE A CELTIC STONE
A fan’s love tale of a young Celtic bhoy
Whose family upped sticks to Seattle
There, he studied hard to become a priest
And became “Rock Of The Community”
Who sought Unity in Humanity
And treated all in his diocese fair
By listening, patience, resolve and care.

So here’s the tale of his last days on Earth
Whose last wish for his ashes to be sown
In Parkhead’s Garden Of Remembrance
And wait in Parkhead for each game to come
With fans waving to family and friends
Thus uniting all kith and kin again
And all Celtic bhoys together, Amen.

So lets hear the song --  with the fans singing the Chorus ….

Audioslave – Like A Stone (Lyrics)

[Verse 1]
On a cobweb afternoon in a room full of emptiness
By a freeway, I confess I was lost in the pages
Of a book full of death, reading how we'll die alone
And if we're good, we'll lay to rest anywhere we wanna go

[Chorus]
    >

I'll wait for you there like a stone
I'll wait for you there alone

[Verse 2]
And on my deathbed, I will pray to the gods and the angels
Like a pagan to anyone who will take me to heaven
To a place I recall, I was there so long ago
The sky was bruised, the wine was bled, and there you led me on

[Chorus]

I'll wait for you there like a stone
I'll wait for you there alone, alone

[Guitar Solo]

[Bridge]
And on, I read until the day was gone
And I sat in regret of all the things I've done
For all that I've blessed and all that I've wronged
In dreams until my death, I will wander on

[Chorus]

I'll wait for you there like a stone
I'll wait for you there alone, alone

About this poem

This poem starts with a poem about the young Celtic bhoy emigrating to Seattle and became a priest and on his passing wished to leave his ashes at Parkhead Stadium, Celtic Football Club, Scotland. The poem is read by the Announcer then asks for the Fans to sing the Chorus of the The Song "Like A Stone" BUT changing the words to suit the poem and narrative. I enjoyed doing this and hope Celtic use this Poem and song as I feel this is a great song, in fact one of my favourite rock songs by one of the great guitarist and lead singer's voice is magic. I hope if Chris was alive he would appreciate my poetic rendition and slight changes to show what a great song writer and vocals he had and how I intertwined a poem with his majestic song.
