The Fallen Queen

I look down, trying to find where the crown I wore when you called me your queen fell.
All that I see are the ghosts of my memories, dancing with smiles while tears run down their faces.
Numb to the pain of what was, but will never be.
Fighting with my head, how did we get here?
I'm lost in your promises, I thought this was fate. Is this a dream? Can you still relate?
Your face, your emotions, the longing you once shared, I can't stop thinking about when you so deeply cared.
You gave me more then a taste, and then took it away. The craving doesn't end just because you say.
Im hungry for you, left wanting for your grace. Let me bathe in your love again, don't let me drown in this place.
Tell me it's forever, please just let me in.
The ache grows again, emptiness calls to me within.
I must be strong. Keep searching. The crown must be near.
On my knees wrapped in shame, cowering behind what's real, hiding the pain, how do I heal?
The echos of my weeping return to me alone.
I can't give up
I won't let go
But there's nothing left
I reach out for you, but you're not even here.
Was it all a dream that only I share?
Blinded by the truth, I can not see.
The crown I had was never meant for me.
