Tree of life

 The Tree of Life

For a moment, eternity washes over the
ripples of time, it's branches progress to the stars yet hold their intensity of anguish, as the descendants of your cradle pluck at the specks of life that are left behind to evolve.

It's mesmerising bewitchment enraptures and compels all who cross it's path yet are oblivious to it’s power,
silently as they elapse and venture with an everlasting grasp never holding on but forever serving to retain it’s tender embrace with each leaf as it entwines it's richness of wealth .

Soon the tree of life will see you soar to join anchestoral spirits as they venture to aid and abet your transition and those generations will carry their sweet torch of existence for you .

Peacefully it blends it's bark and nurtures its creation with the mastery of its flesh as it dominates and complies in unison with nature forever whispering psalms of regret...

As life ebbs away it transpires upwards,
the years will not diminish it's majestic beauty as the seeds of nobility exalt from each vessel duly.

All that will be and can be is love
the threads of which will encompass everything .. forever .

( A poem about life, death ,grief ,birth and re-birth) By Susan Fagan

About this poem

I wrote this poem when I had experienced grief for the first time .. it made me think of my own mortality . It also made me less afraid of death .
