Understanding Me

I am a living contradiction.
I have an active conflicting nature.
Not in a bad way. Not in a difficult way.
But more of an abstract in the form of a human.
Hard to decipher. A mystery to describe. A challenge to understand.

My nature as an INFJ makes me an extroverted introvert.
To close family & friends, former school friends and friend-work colleagues, I may appear cheerful & alive.
But to acquaintances and those who do not know me well, I will appear composed, refined, quiet & hard to read.

I have many dreams. I have numerous plans not just for myself but for my family, my career, my community, my country, the world.
Kindly just give me time. Please bear with me.
In this journey called life, it may take time. It may be slow burn. It may be a long & winding road.

But I will get there. I will reach my goals.
I will achieve the plans I have identified.
I know that with being clear and always going back to my objectives - to lead a meaningful and purposeful life, to be a blessing to others, to be an instrument of God's peace, mercy, compassion and love, I will leave this world and make a difference.

About this poem

I wrote this poem as a reflection of who I am. There might be others like me an INFJ, one of the rarest (1%) personality preference type, who can relate for they also struggle to understand themselves and be understood as well.
