The Shadows of the Night

In the hushed embrace of twilight,
where whispers fade,
and silence breathes deep,
the shadows stretch long—
guardians of secrets lost to light.

They dance upon cobblestones,
tracing memories that linger,
remnants of laughter now muted;
each flicker a heartbeat echoing in darkness.

Beneath celestial tapestries,
stars blink like distant dreams;
yet here, in this velvet obscurity,
time drips slowly—a heavy ink staining edges forgotten.

Oh shadows! You cradle sorrow and solace alike:
the fleeting touch of love’s last sighs—
a ghostly waltz beneath weary branches—
betrayed hopes nestled in corners unseen.

A mournful hush envelops you:
you carry away layers and years—
as night swallows day whole;
bringing forth a quietude so profound it aches.

For every soul once wandering free within your cover—
there lies an elegy stitched into darkened air;
a tribute to long-lost laughter and lingering goodbyes…
Whispering soft requiems through rustling leaves.

What comfort hides in your depths?
What truths await as dawn dares encroach?
You are both specter and sanctuary—
an eternal embrace for all that slips beyond reach.

So let us wander together awhile longer:
hand-in-hand with echoes unbound by time…
until first light breaks the spell you weave—in radiant defiance
of emptiness cloaked within vastness unexplored;

for we know too well—the heartbeats hidden behind closed eyes,
far from gleaming radiance but alive still in twilight's tender grasp,
transforming shadows into stories woven gentle across dim-lit horizons.
