Elegy of Lament

In twilight's hush where shadows wane,
We gather whispers of your name,
The quiet sigh of moonlit breath,
A tender trace now lost to death.

O Lament, you drape the heart in night,
With velvet tears that seek the light;
Each echo pours from sorrow’s well,
A tale too heavy left to tell.

Where laughter danced upon our lips,
Now silence holds its mournful grips;
The gentle touch once close and warm—
Is but a ghost—a lingering storm.

Yet in this ache we find a space,
To cradle love time cannot erase;
For every tear that falls like rain —
A testament to joy and pain.

So let the stars hold vigil bright,
For those we've lost beyond the sight;
Through whispered winds their song endears,
Still sung by hearts who cherish years.

In every shadowed corner glows,
The light of memories still bestows—
And though we part with heavy chest,
In lament's arms we seek our rest.

Embrace the sorrow as it swells,
For grief'res grace forever dwells;
Our voices rise through darkened skies—
Lament lives on as love never dies.
