PLAGUE
You plague my mind, a thread that won't unwind,
It was nothing special, nothing divine,
But somehow enough to make me decline,
A memory tangled, impossible to find peace of mind.
I saw you at the store, a glimpse so brief,
Yet it knocked me down, stole my relief.
Your face, so plain, yet still you invade,
And I'm left gasping, drowning in the mess you've made.
It wasn't love, not something profound,
But your presence lingers, it drags me down.
Your name alone is enough to start,
The panic that rises and tears me apart.
A storm in my chest, a name I can't flee,
A shadow you cast, still haunting me.
I wonder if you'll ever leave me behind,
Or forever plague this fragile mind.
About this poem
he plagues my mind.
