Only For A Moment

A white shirt laying on the floor reminds me of a time when I was the only one you adored.
It didn’t take long, only took one joyride, one meteor shower date to feel the out pour of love and more.
No words were spoken, but you gently implored; your lips on mine left me with the desire to explore.
There was a moment where I could have sworn, a future with you is all I could’ve asked for.
Instead, you distort what could’ve been and enforce the belief that you are deplorable.
I won’t ever let you be ignored behind closed doors.
Considering that’s where I go when I need to mourn, I know it’s not a place one should be forced to stay.
You’ve forced yourself into an enclosed space that’s only getting tighter by the minute, dictating your own limits.
But wouldn't it be magnificent if, only for a moment, we could return to a time when I pranced through your room, dropping my garments all over your carpet?
