A letter to my mom

A Letter to My Mother
Mom, I write to you from this broken place,
a place of shattered hopes and unfulfilled dreams.
I write to you from a place of pain,
a pain that weighs heavy on my heart.
Mom, why did you leave?
Why did you choose to walk away,
to abandon me when I needed you most?

I still remember the day you left,
the way your eyes avoided mine
as you packed your bags and walked out the door.
I remember the emptiness that consumed me
in the days and weeks that followed,
the way I searched for  face in every crowd.
You were my everything, Mom.
My protector, my confidant, my best friend.
But then you were gone, and I was left alone.
I've spent years trying to understand,
trying to find some meaning in your absence.
But I've come up empty-handed every time.
Did I do something wrong?
Was I not enough?
These questions haunt me every day.
The truth is, Mom, I miss you.
I miss your laughter, your hugs,
your words of encouragement and love.
But more than anything, I need you.
I need your guidance as I navigate this world,
your strength as I face life's challenges.
Mom, please come back to me.
Please hold me close and tell me everything will be okay.
Please give me another chance to be your daughter.
But if that can't happen,
if our paths are meant to remain separate,
then know this: I forgive you.
I forgive you for leaving, for hurting me,
for breaking my heart into a million pieces.
And even though it may never make sense,
even though it may always hurt,
know that I will always love you.
