Beautiful Trauma
Beautiful Trauma
Sometimes in life, we go through trials
That make us question every decision.
Every step taken, every mile
Travel along this winding vision.
For me, my stronghold, my guiding light,
Is a woman of unfaltering grace.
A woman who would never take flight,
Who’d put her life down in my place.
I trust her with my very soul,
For she’s never let me down.
Even when the world takes its toll,
Her love is a comforting crown.
Through thick and thin, through joy and strife,
She’s been my rock, my constant guide,
Through tears and laughter, through death and life,
She’s stood by me, never leaving my side.
I’ve learned the hard way, shutting out the world
Only breeds more pain and sorrow,
But with her love, always unfurled,
I face each new day with hope for tomorrow.
She’s always there, no matter the hour,
Her voice a soothing balm of care,
Even when her own heart is dour,
She opens up, willing to share.
“You don’t have to love me,” I say.
But she smiles and shakes her head.
“I choose to,” she whispers, day by day,
And in those words, my fears are shed.
I tell myself it’ll be alright,
Even when darkness threatens to take over,
For in her love, in her guiding light,
I find the strength to push forward, to uncover.
She’s always in my corner, my cheerleader,
Even when she feels lost and alone.
For in her heart, I am her redeemer,
Her love for me, eternally shown.
In her eyes, I see a reflection of selflessness,
A love that knows no bound,
A mother’s love, pure and endless,
A love that always astounds.
So, to you, my dear mother, my guiding star,
I say thank you for all that you are.
For in your love, I find who we are,
Bound together, never too far.
Sometimes in life, we may falter and fall
But with you by my side, I stand tall.
For your love, your strength, your unwavering call,
Guides me through the storm, through it all.
