Bitterness

My world spins round, a dizzy haze,
Headaches pound, in endless daze.
Each step, a risk, a calculated test,
Lightheadedness whispers, "Take a rest."
But rest is short-lived, duties await,
Chores piled high, an endless weight.
No escape from tasks that drain my strength,
A never-ending cycle, no length.I ask myself, "How long can I go?"
Will happiness elude me, or will I know?
Peace seems distant, a fleeting dream,
As bitterness consumes, my heart's dark scheme.
Empty promises of help and care,
Ring hollow, with no action to share.
"Rest, take your time," words so serene,
But tasks remain, my burden unseen. No respite, no break from the grind, Tasks wait, like shadows, left behind.
I rise, to face the same demands,Exhaustion's weight, upon weary hands. Will I find solace, or endless strife?
A life of limitations, devoid of life?
Bitterness creeps, a stealthy guest,
In every ache, and every unrest.

About this poem

It's about how I'm feeling nothing but bitterness in my current relationship. I have health issues yet I'm expected to shoulder all household chores.

Heart-wrenchingly raw, profoundly relatable, and courageously honest. Your words paint a vivid picture of the exhausting struggle to cope with the relentless demands of daily life, while longing for respite, understanding, and support. Your poem is a powerful expression of the often-invisible burdens that many people face, and the desperate need for empathy and compassion.
