Ti amo and not ti amio

Ti amo and not ti amio

Lonely she roams through archways dim,
Orphaned of kin, her wealth turned grim.
Milan, a shadow, weighs her soul,
A gilded cage, yet far from whole.

A healer of minds, yet broken inside,
Twice a week, she lets them confide.
But clients fade like autumn haze,
The city whispers: "Leave these days."

Friend Ermanno, his words sincere,
"Ti amo" — no chain, but warmth to revere.
A fire that sparks, hearts entwined,
Energy flows, both souls aligned.

Yet she replies with her "Ti amio,"
Soft as a kitten’s purr below.
Tender, fleeting, without the fire,
A child’s love, not true desire.

Ermanno speaks, his tone profound,
"Ti amo’s no shackle, but joy unbound.
It asks no toll, no weight to bear,
Just mutual light, a bond to share."

But she retreats, her paths unclear,
Preferring escapes to a far frontier.
Out-of-season she drifts, alone,
Where "Ti amio" feels safe, her zone.

And Milan waits, its skies of grey,
While Ermanno dreams of a brighter day.
Will "Ti amo" break her guarded art,
Or fade like whispers in a wandering heart?

Ermanno Faccio

Oggi ho inviato anche 'They cannot be mistreated' and "A Regal Hymn to Love’s Vow".
