Keeping The Black Memoir
In the pages of a worn-out book,
Lies a story that no one could overlook,
With words that paint a world of strife,
A memoir of the black life.
Peeling off the layers of time,
Each word revealing a desperate climb,
Through oppressive hands and chains,
A history that still remains.
From the shores of Africa,
To the cotton fields of America,
They were torn away from home,
But their spirit was never alone.
In the yellowed pages of this tome,
The truth of their struggle is shown,
Of stolen voices and silenced cries,
Of shattered dreams and broken ties.
From the depths of their suffering,
Rises a strength that's everlasting,
Through the pain and the scars,
They refused to be behind bars.
With each turn of the page,
A new chapter of their rage,
Against a world that tried to keep them down,
But they refused to wear the crown.
Their resilience flows through each verse,
Their courage, a fire that never dispersed,
For in the face of adversity,
They held on to their identity.
Through the battles they fought,
Their resilience was never bought,
For their freedom was their only desire,
Their love for life, an unquenchable fire.
As the words continue to unfold,
A story of bravery untold,
Of heroes and heroines who stood tall,
In a world that wanted them to fall.
Through the verses of this book,
Their voices will forever speak,
For in their darkest hour,
They found the strength to empower.
With each chapter, a new insight,
Into a past that we can't rewrite,
But through the pages of this memoir,
Their legacy will continue to soar.
Their struggles were not in vain,
For their sacrifices shall always remain,
A reminder of the cruelty of man,
And the power of the human stand.
So let us keep this black memoir,
A testament to their journey so far,
For in its words lies a powerful truth,
Of a people who refused to be subdued.
Let it be a beacon of hope,
A reminder to never lose sight of the scope,
For even in the darkest night,
There will always be a glimmer of light.
So let us hold on to this book,
With hands that tremble and hearts that look,
For in its pages, we will find,
A story of a race, brave and kind.
And as we turn to the final page,
Let us remember their struggle and their rage,
For in their perseverance lies the key,
To the future of a world that's free.
