Orange Peeler

i peel the orange slowly, making sure nothing sprays
the orange seems to pop out in disarray
all broken apart, cut beyond repair
the only thing left to do is swallow without air

i bite softly, the skin is tender and drips of bittersweet nectarine
i chew until its all mush between my tainted teeth as a teen
the tangerine drops to the bottomless pit known as a tummy
thats only one slice, on comes the next. yummy!

i grab more and more, feeding monster underneath
i keep chewing until the citrus becomes my teeth
the orange cries for help, for mercy
and we keep biting with no jury

About this poem

its about how we let people stop over us, making us seem like nothing (or “mush”).
