Letting You Go

As we part ways, my shattered heart bleeds,
In death's dark grasp, I yearn for your gentle touch—my final need.
One last kiss, as my lifeless lips whisper low,
Forever bound, our love’s haunting melody flows.

You embody perfection, my soul's eternal song,
Worthy of all sacrifices to love you—right or wrong.
To hold you forever is my heart's desperate desire,
Kissing you until my last breath, my unquenchable fire.

Yet if our love fuels your suffering's pain,
I'll set you free, though it shatters my soul in vain.
Tears fall like rain; blood flows—my heart lies bare and broken—
For your happiness, I’ll silently bear this ache unspoken.

About this poem

Through "Letting You Go" I explore love, sacrifice and the heart - wrenching decision to set someone free for their own happiness. I hope this poem resonates with anyone who has faced the bittersweet reality of putting another's need above their own, ultimately weaving a haunting melody of love that lingers long after the final lines.
