Fallen Soldier

In the depths of my soul, a war rages on,
A battle between heart and mind, where love is forever gone.
I'm a fallen warrior, with a heart that's lost its way,
A soul that's shattered, like the shards of a broken day.

Tears fall like the rain, as I remember your lovely face,
The smile that lit the darkness, the laughter that filled the space.
My heart aches with every breath, my soul cries out in pain,
For the love we shared, the love that could never be regained.

In the silence of the night, I hear your whispered name,
A gentle breeze that stirs my soul, a flame that burns with endless flame.
I reach out to the shadows, to grasp the hand that's no longer there,
To feel the touch, the warmth, the love that we once shared.

Oh, how I yearn to turn back time, to relive the moments we shared,
To hold you close, to feel your heart, to know that you're still there.
But time keeps moving forward, and I'm left with just a memory,
A bittersweet reminder of what we had, and what could never be.

So I'll rise up, and I'll fight, with every ounce of strength I have,
To honor our love, to keep your memory alive, to never let it fade.
I'll battle the darkness, I'll chase the shadows away,
And though I'm just a fallen warrior, I'll rise up, and I'll face the day.
