shine

You were the light that could penetrate.

Crystal heart creating rainbow patterns on  blank canvas wall.

Mesmerising smile distracts from empty eyes.

Blind faith in your shine the brilliance you evoke.

Now the mask that you so carefully don, begins to crack leaving slivers of no one.

Broken apart, not even a glimmer remained.
Your conquest, now emptied and tossed to the side.

No remorse for your lover so selfishly drained. No feeling of self loathing, remorse or shame.

Satiated for now, knowing full well, It wont be long before the emptiness grows.

Back on the prowl, it is all that you know. the endless cycle of trying to feel whole.

Despite your darkness deep to the core, I vow to myself I will give even more.  As you sadly chase fulfillment, I will grow wings and soar.

I've always known that the light was mine.
I am the Sun.
The glimmer.
The shine.
