The Unlikely Connection

We collide in crowded spaces, our paths crossing briefly
at work, in meetings, in passing conversations, yet
your presence leaves an indelible mark, a gentle impression
on the canvas of my heart, a space that's now reserved

Your attitude, a whispered promise, has cajoled my soul
to keep a chamber open, a sanctuary where you're made whole
your beauty, a master key, unlocks the zipper of my eyes
and I behold the radiance, the warmth that you imply

Your smile, a sly captor, has taken my mind hostage
a sweet surrender, a willing captivity, where I'm lost
in the depths of your expression, a sea of delight
where time stands still, and all that's left is the gentle light.

We bump into each other, literally, in the throng
of watercooler conversations and awkward meetings all day long
but in the chaos, your presence is a punctuation mark
a comma in the sentence of my soul, a pause that leaves its mark

your attitude is a Post-It note on the fridge of my heart
a reminder to keep a space for you, a sanctuary to never depart
your beauty is the fingerprint on the lens of my gaze
smudged and imperfect, but uniquely yours, in every way

your smile is a VHS tape stuck on pause
a freeze-frame of joy that rewinds and replays
and I'm captivated by the static, the white noise of your charm
tuning in to the frequency of your heart, disarming.
