Heart's Desire

Love came to me on the sparkle of a wisp once.
A typical day,
You know the one.

Yawning...
Stretching...

Consciousness sparked,
yet struggling to pull myself back down.
Oh, to be wrapped in such warm pleasantness once again!

Just to relive that last part,
play it over in any way that I want.
For this moment in time is not to be given up,
for this is only mine!

Insensate...
Goodness...

Dare I attempt to mold thy vivid dream into contentment!
To drift off,
to travel through the twists and turns as I spiral down lovesick's sweet pit.

A cursory peek through an icy glass pane,
thus creates archaic longing inside me once again!
On tip toes I stand,
reaching out for the simple touch of his hand.

Restless...
Desultory...

Did he just blink,
or perhaps it was a wink?
A switch flips,
as the sun casts in daylights sharp glints.

Well-nigh cruel how it wakens me on this cold winters morn,
with it's daggerlike icy unwavering stare.

Epiphany...
Reality...

Yet how could one deny that its hard crust,
hath somehow overtaken his heart?
For who am I to question a decision made in nights past?

Familiar pressure knots back up in my gut,
I wish now to wake up.
Get it over with,
for nothing left I have yet to give.

Impuissant...
Forbearance...

Such cruel tricks of the heart,
may resolve when I depart.
No one who will care,
much like impulses surrendered to complete a dare.

Oh, I'd rather not,
question the complexity of the heart!
A love once so sweet,
together entwined between the softess clean sheets.

Heart beats fast again,
Come down.
Don't be cruel,
Love me once again.

Oh, my burning hearts desire!
