Threads of Life

Pragmatic and esoteric,
Wilting winter, regeneration.
Eccentric volition, rebirthing the cycle,
Seasons of life tainted with anguish, with deceit,
Yet joy and victory linger in battles unraveled
On roads never before traveled.

Time, an illusion,
A delusion of humankind.
Whispers beckon a plea for truth,
As the cosmos slowly unwind.

And in the quiet, amidst the storm,
A spark of clarity begins to form.
A fragile thread of hope unspools,
Weaving a kingdom where destiny rules.

Entangled still in webs of dreams,
The cosmos hums with distant themes.
Perhaps the answers yet may rise,
Unfolding slowly before our eyes.

For now, the journey’s just begun,
A dance of shadows, stars, and sun.

Not sure if you have ever read any of Kierkegaard's works, but that opening stanza of yours brought me immediately back to a quote of his (I had to look it up to remember): "A human being is a synthesis of the infinite and the finite, of the temporal and the eternal, of freedom and necessity, in short, a synthesis."

Your poem is a beautiful truth: we are a pendulum swinging between two extremes, and we must find our place (our kingdom, as you say) within it. That word 'entangled' along with the answers 'unfolding slowly before our eyes' is a path that I have been on since 1989.

Definitely be proud of this poem!

Yes. I'm not certain that I am the best poet/writer in a five thousand mile radius but this is a fabulous piece. I'm one who believes in Rhythm. Without the compliment of musical instruments, poetry should not be a Herculean task for folks who are not poets.
Poetry should capture the imagination and and keep it glued in right through the piece being read. This is what Rhymes alone can do excellently from stanza to stanza without batting an eyelid.
I grew up in Lagos Nigeria and my most cherished text book was ADVENTURES INTO POETRY FOR AFRICAN SCHOOLS. where "Try Again" by Eliza Cook can be found, and the full length of "The Pied Piper of Hamelin". All 200 or so poems written with rhymes in every stanza no matter how long or short...

Kudos To Sharona Reeves I appreciate your style as I began to wonder if I was alone in a brand of writing that must have Rhythm that's built on Rhymes. It is the only way I know how to write poems. "Threads of Life" rocks for me.
