Empty, -
Unspoken desires,
Ungrasped fears of my yester year.
Forgotten,
Just a faded snapshot of a memory,
Which fill me with uncertain thoughts and fear?
I wonder what will become of this hollow vessel,
Which incarcerates my soul.
Will it rot or will it decay?
Or could it possibly forever live on,
Like it did in my not so distant past,
To stumble blindly through yet one more day?
Oh the questions I so wearily ponder,
When left all alone again.
I am watching and waiting for my time to go.
I remain hidden among the shadows,
Finding shelter in my pain,
Here at Home, the only sanctuary I will ever really know.

There’s something about this that feels like settling into a familiar space, even when that space is built from old memories and unanswered questions. Not everyone finds comfort in the light, sometimes, home is in the quiet, in the knowing, in the place where you don’t have to pretend. Nice piece
