When we get old

When we get old, we will love each other even more than when we first met,
And we will wear a pair of clothes that's a matching set,
While we hop on our wheelchairs or scooters for races,
We won't tie our shoes because we will have Velcro, not laces.

When we get old, we will take out our teeth just so we can kiss,
As we do everything together so each other we won't miss,
And our wrinkly hands will be locked together, every single day,
While we walk slow as turtles, when we get on our way.

When we get old, a hearing aid will help us to hear,
And huge glasses will help us see things that are not near,
For we might have memory loss, so from keeping us from turning back,
We will carry all of our things around our waist in a fanny pack.

When we get old, we will pretend our canes are swords as we play fight,
With so many laughs everything just seems to be happy and so right,
And when we are tired, we will fall asleep in our favorite rocking chairs,
Right after we make fun of each other's gray and white hairs.

When we get old, one thing will be our greatest glory,
Is telling those we love about our love for each other in a story,
But just remember this which to you, I have always told,
I will always and forever love you, even when we get old.
