A Morning of Shifting Light
I woke this morning, March 6th, to see,
The sun shining bright, warm, wild, and free.
Through the window, the light called my name,
Grateful I was, feeling no shame.
I wrote of thanks, of the joy in my heart,
Of the love that surrounds me, right from the start.
An hour went by, and the sun still shone,
But something shifted, something unknown.
A raindrop fell, then another came,
And the sky rumbled with thunder’s claim.
Lightning flashed, then went away,
Yet the sun stayed, in its own way.
I looked out again, and the lesson was clear,
Life’s like the weather—both far and near.
We bask in the light, but storms will arrive,
Both the sun and the rain help us survive.
Sometimes the storms may roar so loud,
But the light behind it remains proud.
Like thunder and lightning, the trials we face,
But even in darkness, there's always grace.
About this poem
This morning, March 6, 2025, brought me a lesson through shifting skies. It was a reminder that life, much like the weather, moves through phases of light and dark, but there's always something to be learned from both. Here’s my reflection
