Bye Bye Man

In the shadows, he lurks unseen
An ominous presence, dark and mean
A figure shrouded in mystery
Whispered about in tales of history
The Bye Bye Man, they say he's real
A force of evil, a devil's deal
He preys on those who speak his name
Bringing terror and fear, his only aim
Some say he's just a figment of our minds
A trick of the imagination, a way to pass the time
But others believe he walks among us
A malevolent being, one we cannot trust
With eyes like coal, and a twisted grin
He haunts our thoughts, inviting us in
To a world of nightmares and endless dread
A place where reality and fiction are easily led
They say he's the reason for our darkest fears
The source of all the ghostly tears
For once you hear his name, it's too late
He's already marked you, sealed your fate
He feeds on our doubts, our insecurities
Filling our minds with endless impurities
He plays on our weaknesses, our every flaw
Until we're trapped in his twisted maw
And when the night falls and all is still
You can feel his presence, an icy chill
He whispers your name, a soft hiss
And suddenly, everything becomes amiss
His power knows no bounds or limits
No one is safe from his menacing visits
He leaves a trail of chaos in his wake
A reminder of the terror he can make
No one knows where he came from
Or what drives him, what makes him hum
Some say he's a curse, a forgotten god
Others say he's just a product of our thoughts
But one thing is for certain, he's here to stay
A shadowy figure, a game we can't play
And as the clock strikes midnight, he bids farewell
For a moment at least, until he casts his spell
So beware of the Bye Bye Man, don't speak his name
Or you'll be caught in his twisted game
For once he takes hold, it's hard to break free
From the terror and horror, that is his decree
And as the night fades and the sun rises high
We breathe a sigh of relief, the Bye Bye Man has passed by
But in our hearts, we know he'll return
For he's a part of us, a lesson we must learn.
So be wary of the shadows, and the whispers on the wind
For the Bye Bye Man is always lurking, his power never thinned
And though we may try to forget, he'll always be there
A reminder of our fears, a dark presence to beware.
