I Know You

Deciduous like a buckeye-
time has only shown,
what your true colors are.
Moonlight has a way
of turning night to day,
gifting me the sight of real you.
Lies by omission
should have been a red flag-
Steadfast hearts,
turn the other cheek.
Promises you make,
have no meaning for me-
even time can never change
who you became.
Many seasons will pass,
grow as I watch close,
but don’t ever forget-
I know you.
