The Mosquito and the Fly

The mosquito and fly were a very odd pair
One was quite hairy and the other was bare

Though they lived together they could never agree
The fly often threatened to go live with the flea

The fly complained the mosquito too loud
The mosquito thought  fly to be overly proud

Why do we do this they asked one day
If we’re unhappy then why do we stay?

So they each made a list and checked it twice
Of the things they enjoyed that made life nice

They couldn’t believe when they showed off their lists
Both of their eyes began to mist

At the top of each list without prep or planning
Was the other guy’s name  - how astounding!

It all made sense now, the reason they stayed
They were best friends and they had it made!
