Alone in the Forest

I know not what to do alone in the forest
I shiver in sorrow and the silence glares back into me
In my feeble attempts to look into your heart and mind
I retreat empty-handed

Yet I see the beacon of your lone-ness
It searches for me
And gobbled I am in its blaze
My paralysed frame trembles beneath the glow

You, like the summer rain that quenches the thirsty earth
As the tips of your fingers touch my skin
As the surface of your lips press against my neck
Tell the story of your hearts desire

Words struggle to escape my lips
They become frozen in their ascent
Like rain caught in the frozen air
Words caught in the blizzard of confusion

Muted reflections haunt my moments
I wait …
Alone …
In the …
Forest

deborah k Bates

My passion is people and assisting them to create the life they want. I do this as an Author – Counsellor – Mentor.A professional writer I write to inspire through the encouragement of viewing life through metaphor, higher perspectives, introspection and the principles of nature. With a goal and purpose – to turn the mundane world upside down and into a magical journey – to negate the annihilating nature of self reproach or self loathing towards feeling whole as a person – to encourage one to dream beyond their wildest dreams to create the life they want to live – to transform mediocrity into magnificent – to find ecstasy and joviality despite the ups and downs.Discover more at http://www.deborahkbates.com Read my blog at http://www.deborahkbates.com/blog more…
