Choose What Truly Rates

Some people act kindly, some people are mean
Some people are gracious, some simply obscene

Some people bring laughter, some people bring tears
Some people bring sorrow, some people bring cheers

Some people are honest, some take all they find
Some people are "true-blue," some will rob you blind

Some people inflate you, some people will drain
Some people are thankful, some always complain

Some people show courage, some people show fear
Some people show nothing, some people just leer

Some people are stingy, some generously live
Some people are takers, some joyfully give

Some people are angels, some people are real
Some people are demons, some act like a heel

Some people have street smarts, some people are dumb
Some people excite you, some make you feel numb

Some people forgive you, some hold to a grudge
Some people are yielding, some will never budge

Some people are healers, some people cause pain
Some people extent life, some shorten the lane

Some people are funny, some people are fun
Some people have humor, some people have none

Since we are these people, since we have these traits
Since we make the choices, choose what truly rates
