I am the Phoenix!

I rise up from ashes burned to a crisp,
My ash blows away like melting mist,
Flowing into the sky, I begin to fly,
I am the phoenix, I cannot die.

My wings shake off the ashes in thunder,
Then I fall like one of the wonders,
My wings force friction upon air so hot,
Lightning flickers from all that I've got.

I strike upon earth like a falcon on fire,
A crater is created from all my desire,
Burning through chasms and canyons of land,
Surrounded by dust destroyed by my hawk-like hand.

Dust disappears as I rise from the cloud,
I fly away in my wings of a shroud,
Hiding myself from the dragon's rage,
I am the phoenix newly enraged.

I cast myself towards the moon up above,
Disappearing into craters of love,
Surrounding myself in safety, I wait,
Tomorrow will seal my fate.
