Male Intuition

I go to work at an elementary school,
Teaching, my chosen vocation,
Full of teachers of the female persuasion.
I think I have them fig’er’d out,
Sometimes in my mind there is no doubt.
But they have a way of changing the rules
At times, I have heard they can even be cruel.
A statement, my intuition tells me, would be fitting,
I make a smile, I see her hair is curling.
I steel my nerves and, time permitting, a comment utter,
The reply could make a soldier shudder
I point a finger at her due, “Is that new?”
“I had it done three weeks ago, Where were you?”
