Nothing But Tears To Fall

...
"Your eyes sparkle with beauty...that beauty which irradiates my soul"
A smile glistened on her beautiful face
As he caressed her soft vibrant skin with the rough pad of his fingers
She closed her eyes and softly wrapped her hands around his
Pulled his knuckles toward her sun warmed lips...then kissed them
The sound of the wind slightly blowing through the trees, made the flowers dance
All the while pollen and leaves showered from above like natural confetti
...She knew this was too perfect...
She tightened her hand and a tear bled from her eye as she murmured
"Don't leave me..."
She then felt the pressure of her hands, which tightly clutched his...alleviate
She opened her beautiful eyes
He was gone
The sparkle dimmed as the colored scene faded slowly
And returned to the dull and hollow eyes darkened by the greyscale room
She rose and once again returned to the window slowly...and glanced hard for his long awaited return
The distant land stood still...and not a shadow ascended the hill
Just as it hadn't for the past 20 years
She returned to pacing near the dilapidated window and hallway
Pictures hung cracked and untouched such as her memories
Covered with cobb webs and mourning
She spent countless nights standing in her doorway, whispering at her moon lit shadow hoping for a silent response
"I love you, where are you??"
...She knew he wouldn't respond...
for he was to never return
Many years had passed as her loneliness broadened
Clutching to her withered heart slapping away hope and slight signs of happiness from entering her soul
This loneliness budded into pain, which remained unchanged unlike the world
She looked at the world through her window
Buildings expanded and civilizations corrupt, fallen, and rebuilt
She hadn't changed...just her once vibrant skin withered and wrinkled and hair bleached to white
Seasons passed like minutes and aeons like hours
Soon the winter snow fell and her refuge had iced over
For it was no home without him...It never was or will be
Her optimism had gone like the animals that had fallen or hibernated
She stopped pacing and laid down on the empty bed in the empty colorless room
And cried her last tears her body had summoned
She then closed her eyes and slowly slipped away
Into nothingness
Until she once again opened her eyes
Staring down at her pale human shell and expressionless face
...There was no after life with him, she was damned to eternal loneliness...
This frozen monochromatic refuge was her hell
Far from his hands and eternal happiness
She paces in front of her window and wanders the hall still whispering
"I love you, Where are you?"
With no result but tears...which always stain the floor
