Searching

I just want to thank you
For the way you understand
And the way that you have touched me
Though you never held my hand
I can see a bright light shining
Through the darkness of my life
Even though I have been cut
By a sharp unkindly wife

There are days and they're a plenty
When I do not want to rise
To see the sun there shining bright
Nor the blueness of the sky
To suffer happy people
Is difficult for me
Cos yesterday I was one
Now I am so empty

The sound of laughter left me
Hope its not gone for good
As maybe one day I will meet
Someone that I should
Be happy with to spend my days
And through my nights as well
To rescue me from this darkness
That I call my living hell

I think that you have been there
And maybe you still are
Walking through the graveyard
To a place that is so far
Away it takes a long time
To reach its happy gate
I hope that we can get there
Before it is too late
