Sisters

Laughing, fighting and even crying
Staying up late
Playing games
and hiding
we've grown up together
through the years
having pointless fights
and wiping away each others tears

Eventhough we always fight
I wouldn't want anyone else
by my side
no will take me from you
I'm glad that Mom and Dad
only had us two

You took care of me
when no one else would
when I felt awful
somehow you saw good

We're never very far apart
but if somehow we are
we are close
in our hearts

We may not always
see eye to eye
You come first
before any guy

If you're feeling mad or down
you can count on me
to get rid of your frown
you are my best friend
and partner in crime
you can count on me
anytime.

Victoria McCombs

I am 17 years old. Poetry to me is a way to express myself, to let out my feelings and share them with others because I know at least one person can find something they have gone through or is going through right now in one of my poems. I don't write poetry to try to be better than anyone else I write it to give me some peace of mind. I have been writing poetry for about two years, I love it. Anytime I am going through something no matter how tragic, heart breaking, exciting, or happy something is, I can find a way to write it down and make it seem beautiful. My poems are simple and most of them all rhyme, but they are true, real life feelings. Whether it is friends fighting, getting hurt, finding love, or just expressing my love for nature. It is all real life things and thoughts. My goal is not to be the best poet but to at least spread knowledge of my poems so maybe I can help at least one person through a rough time. I have many poems, they are not all posted yet. I just need to find time to add more. Enjoy. My favorite poem I have written would definitely be my "God" poem though I don't think any religious person would like it because it does kind of "bash" God but you have to understand where I was coming from when I wrote it. I have a friend that passed away 4-12-10 from cancer, she just barely turned 16 and she struggled with cancer her whole life, I didn't find it fair, she wanted to live and she deserved to live, she is the sweetest girl I have ever met, she had such a hard life that went even deeper than just cancer. She came close to death so many times but always pulled through, she was such a fighter and I don't see why she was taken away. R.I.P Alli<3 more…
