The Coming (2)

My head ("aleve" is no relief, at all),
Spinning fast is in utter pain.
My heart ("digitalis" is not helping),
Beating slow is tired and--broken,
Because I have yet so many unrealized
Imaginings and dreams.
But my soul...yes, that eternal spirit within
Is saying, "I am not ready, not until
I am done, or "over it" in my own terms.
As the pen is to the sword--mightier,
So is the spirit to the body.
I find (and hope) my pen, and feel (and pray)
My spirit...the same.
And as onward goes steadily and surely...
The coming, I will be up--not down...
With my worn-out shoes on--"running away."
So God--my Lord and Savior, help me!
