The Island

i'm feeling so cold, and alone, standing on this iceberg
i'm staring, into the distance, at an island, and my eyes hurt
it seems so far away, the ocean waves are moving, this course astray
holding on for dear life, sitting on thin ice, and still i wait

i'm dealing with demons that refuse to die on this fiery pyre
trying to avoid all the voices in my head, i'm so sick and tired
i'm freezing and bleeding and i'm dreaming of making it ashore
headed in the right direction or another dimension, i'm not sure

i'm using sea salt water just to satisfy my thirst
i keep my eyes, on the tides, it just keeps getting higher
the storm is hitting hard, and i almost fell off
i fear, the end is near, to be my last thought

i'm feeling so cold, and alone, my mind is on fire
now i realize the situation is dire, and my time will soon expire
i try and try, to remember the island, but i forget
time and time again, i'm left with, so much regret
