The meaning of being an Indian
We believe in cooking and grooming benefits of oil,
We recycle wedding gifts, gift wrappers or aluminium foil,
We fight over who would pay the dinner bill,
We flock the homes of our relatives when they're ill,
Our parents always tell us," Never forget our parampara/heritage"
We know unending tales about what our parents did when they were our age,
We guys are all warm, not aloof or hollow,
Goodness in India has never been fallow,
We are the ones can guff anywhere,
Our gossips are mean, but full of care!
We still gape when a boyfriend gifts his girlfriend a diamond ring,
We are a typical masala movie, we can laugh and cry over anything!
We can stock our clothes in a suitcase even when we have a wardrobe or a store,
We come from different regions, pretend to be modern, but we are desis hard core,
We fight, abuse and stop talking, and later get back to hug each other and cry,
We are all dramatic individuals, Indians till we die!
We Indians are adorable, more intelligent than most others,
Know how to love each other and can be the most united brothers,
Respect is what we earn from everywhere,
Blood flowing in our veins is full of care,
Our mothers can cook the best delicacies simply on the stove,
We know the value of goodness and love,
Together we are, and will always be,
India is beautiful, more beautiful than any country can be!
