To Discover More About You

We sat on the park bench admiring the azaleas
You like them wild and free, the same as camellias
And we spoke of these things under the scent of gardenias
And the mood was just right to discover more about you

Then you laid down before me, naked and bare
I just stared in your eyes; you're most naked in there
I was lost in your curves and in your tangled hair
And the mood was just right to discover more about you

You gave me your hand, and I'm wearing your ring
You gave me this day; watching the children playing
You are the warmth that gives life it's meaning
And the mood is just right to discover more about you

Then you took out your paints and you made up your mind
You'd paint a beautiful picture and in it you'd find
All the dreams that have left you, a rebirth of some kind
And the mood was just right to discover more about you

Now I look through old photos and old recipes
There on the park bench, near the flowers and trees
You're carried in the gardenias sweet pleasentrys
And the mood is just right to discover more about you

And you said that your life here was just as a guest
I remember how you smiled when you drew your last breath
Stepping into the light, I know was never your death
For the mood is just right to discover more about you
