Deep in the Heart

There was a young man, who taught me to live;
Live as the Lord would, and learn how to give.
Love burning so bright, deep in the heart;
To reach eternal life – is where you should start.

The Lord looked down upon us and what did he see?
He saw mankind kill His Son upon Calvary.
The Son said Father, forgive them they know, not what they’ve done.

To your only Son.

He was sent to Earth to take our sins so we might live with Him again.

He took all our sins, and yet we don’t care…

There was a young man, who taught me to live;
Live as the Lord would, and learn how to give.

-Hiedi and I co-wrote these lyrics to music she had written. It was my first collaboration on a song, and a lot of fun. Since that time, I’ve arranged the piece for solo guitar, and done a piano arrangement as well.
