Chastened

I've worn your words, a tear stained suit,
tie tied around my wrists.
It's buttons holding back our tides,
slip across my aching flesh
like $10,000 worth of promises
but, I feel so damned broke.....

Our wires crossed, plasma arced,
X-rays...

Imprisoning Fireflies

We held hands
and imprisoned fireflies
beneath the gloaming.
Their phantoms
flick'ring 'mid an ebon sky,
became the sparks
between our gaze....

Hearts hang, heavy
on each ling'ring glance....
as ev'ry risqué quip,
incarnates flame
...
