The last breath

Unscrewing the cap
Taking my last breath
Pouring the poison
Reliving the moment
I see your tears
I can hear your cries
But still I’m going to die
At least I’m gonna try
You can’t stop me anymore
Just one sip or four
I hold up the glass
Think of my past
The way my path lead me here
Could it have been different this year
The liquid touches my lips
And my mind goes away in a blip
I cough a little
As I taste it so bitter
Then I feel my eyes roll back
And my spirit crack
Then darkness
Nothingness
No one even knew
Me and My friends were through
At my funeral they weep
And somehow I couldn’t see
That they actually cared
Even when I wasn’t there
So please hold your friends
While you still can

About this poem

It talks about a time I tried to poison myself. How I think it would have gone if I had actually gone through with it.
